Thank you for considering volunteer opportunities with Eastern Little League! Volunteering at Eastern is a great way to meet new people, use your skills/expertise for good, build relationships and positively impact the lives of kids in our community.
So what is a volunteer and why does our League need volunteers? An Eastern Little League volunteer is any person who freely offers to contribute their time, skills, or services to help strengthen the league or expand its impact on youth baseball. Eastern Little League is a volunteer-run not-for-profit organization which relies on people like you to operate. Below are some of the opportunities we have for volunteers.
Coaching - We are always looking for parents to volunteer their time to teach the game of baseball.
Team Parent - Help the Head Coach with coordinating team and league events such as Lexington Legends night, the team picnic at Closing Ceremonies, fundraising, etc.
Events & Fundraising - Assist the League with planing special events throughout the year including the annual Light 'Em Up fundraiser, Lexington Legends night, Opening Day at Ecton and Closing Ceremonies on Championship Saturday.
If you have questions about volunteer opportunities, contact Ann Bruggeman. All volunteers (managers, coaches, members of the Board of Directors, and other persons, volunteer or hired workers who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to or contact with players or teams), MUST submit annually a Little League Volunteer Application, which can be completed during player registration or a copy can be printed here and submitted to the League President.
Little League Background Check Policy
Little League International requires all its leagues to conduct an annual background check, including a nationwide criminal search and a search of the National Sex Offender Registry. Eastern Little League utilizes J.D Palatine to conduct background checks. J.D. Palatine has a Criminal File database that contains more than 600 million records, including criminal and sex offender registry records covering 50 states and the District of Columbia, meeting the current Little League Regulation 1(c) 8 & 9 requirement.
